Cross-Stitchin'

Rea dug out the embroidery thread this afternoon and asked for a sewing lesson. We haven't worked on this since my Aunt Lori was here a year ago and gave her her first cross-stitching lesson, just like she taught me probably 25 years ago!!! Good memories....

I remember being just as impatient then as Rea is now. Like mother like daughter? (sigh)

Back on the Couponing Bandwagon

Well it's been awhile, but I'm back with a vengeance! After sorting through the huge pile of old newspapers that I'd been saving, yet ignoring, I salvaged LOTS of coupons, most of which had not yet expired! (Whew) There's nothing more irritating than finding the perfect coupon and realizing that your store has the product on sale, but the coupon is now no good. I made 4 lists. I made 4 piles of paper-clipped coupons. I strategized and planned. I put on my shoes and jacket and readied myself to go out this afternoon and "tackle the tedious task" of shopping with coupons.

Then I took my shoes off, made myself a cup of coffee, picked out a movie and comforted myself with the thought that only ONE of the coupons in those PILES of coupons was expiring today, so no big deal..... I'll go tomorrow. It's only $.25.

Good decision.

Many Hands Make Light Work

Ma-lak gave Ya'shar a vacuuming lesson the other day. Quite hilarious.

Buddies

This cracked me up - they were just watching videos that I had posted onto the blog awhile ago, and for some reason it was a cozy moment for them. Too endearing!

Happy Curtains!

My mom, the sewing genius that she is, made some beautiful new embroirdered curtains for my happy little yellow kitchen. We had picked out the material a month ago when she was here, and it didn't take her long to whip up these gorgeous replacements for the faded, wilted, "stained-with-spaghetti-sauce-and-other-stuff" ones that were there before.

Thanks, Mom, for sending a little piece of you for me to look at everyday!

The Wizard of Oz (Kindergarten Version!)

Ya'shar's class put on their first play of the year earlier this week! Sadly, I did not attend... Could barely keep my eyes open after I got home from work! So Daryle went and took lots of pictures, as promised. :)

Ya'shar was SOOO hoping to be the wizard in the play, but he instead was a flying monkey. (Probably suited him better from the looks of his "monkeying around" on stage....)

Cuddle Bug

Doesn't this look like a cozy way to watch movies??
