Letty's Baby Shower!

Yesterday we had a baby shower for our friend, Letty, who's expecting a little girl in June! Inez had a house full of friends from work, and the adults were nearly out-numbered by children! Talk about fun and CHAOS!! But we did manage to get a group picture!

So here we are left to right, starting at the top:

Anne, Mary Ellen, Cheryl, Tammy, Vince
Terry, Giuliana, Virgina, Letty, Ellen
Inez (our hostess!) Me, Teresa, Blythe and little Keoni!

Congratulations, Letty! We can't wait to meet her!

The Cake!!

Letty, with her daughters Lupe, Andrea, and Teresa!

This was a FUN cake to do for a special friend! (Thanks for the good tips, Jess! White raspberry was a fun twist!) And there were only TWO little finger marks to cover up this time - we're making progress! (Next time I'll do the cake during naptime!) :)

More Friends!

Lunch at Latitude

With Saturday being such a gorgeous day, we decided it would be fun to eat outside at a favorite place we like to go to called Latitude. It's a beautiful restaurant set right on Roberts Lake by the golf course in Rohnert Park, and they have the best outdoor seating! It was fun to be outside and enjoy some awesome chips and mango salsa! (They have the best color crayons, too, according to Rea...)

Turtle Watching

After lunch the kids watched 7 turtles swim around and climb on logs and rocks. They ALMOST decided they wanted a turtle as a pet instead of a puppy.... Um, no.

A Blessed, Non-Traditional Easter

Being from the midwest, both Daryle and I miss seeing our families and love every opportunity to reconnect. So imagine my delight when one of my most favoritest cousins, Julie (who lives in Southern California in Orange County) informed me she and her husband Mike (and 9 of their closest friends!) were going to be in the area celebrating her 30th birthday over Easter weekend! Yippee!

Because of the holiday, my work schedule was less than accomodating for a social weekend, but thanks to a friend switching a day with me, we were able to have some time Sunday together to hang out and visit!

Julie, I love and miss you sooooo much! Even being in the same state, you're still too far away! (California is one loooooong state, huh!) Can't wait to see you again!

Being "Tourist-y" in San Francisco!

We took the BART (Bay Area Rail Train, I think....) city transportation from the airport to downtown San Fran in Union Square. Grabbed some coffee b/c we were a-freezin', and then caught a trolley car all the way down to Fisherman's Wharf. It was so fun and relaxing to just stroll and see the sights! We had a waaay yummy dinner of crab legs/seafood at Fisherman's Grotto, and then a sweet treat at Ghiradelli Square.

Thank you, Friends, for such a wonderful day of memories! I miss you, Julie and Mike! See you next month in Long Beach!

Yucky Childhood Diseases Vol. 1

So the Thursday before Easter, I noticed this tiny little red dot on Ya'shar's face, next to his mouth. I thought it was maybe a scratch or a little bug bite, but we don't have any bugs... FOUR hours later, it had developed into something I vaguely remembered seeing in a fat text book in nursing school. And a few hours after that, full blown NASTINESS! I was pretty sure it was impetigo, but I took him to the doctor the next morning to make sure, and sure enough, we walked out of the office a few minutes later with a prescription for antibiotic ointment!

Very itchy, very oozy, very contagious, very many other huggy kissy children in the house! Very many bandaids used!!!! And oh dear, very many people coming to the house on Easter Sunday! OK, only two, but still....

Of course, I should never have worried, because.....

(see post below!)

All Gone!!

And after a week of antibiotics, you can hardly tell there was anything there! Thanks, Lord for fast healing!

"Sisters, Sisters...."

"...there were never such devoted sisters!"

Yeah, devoted to modeling new dresses! More of Grandma Linda's creations, of course! It was soooo warm and beautiful last Sunday, and they just couldn't wait another week! It looks like this coming Easter Sunday the rain will continue, so it's good they got to wear them last week - they're growing out of them by the second!

Please note the MATCHING PURSES!!! Ma, you outdid yerself!! Love you!
