Mom and Justin were here to visit - at least I think they were.... Was that just this past week??? Flew right by of course, and it doesn't help that we were super busy the whole time! We packed a lot in - that's how we roll. :) They couldn't get on the same flight, so I picked Justin up Thursday evening at 7:00 and then we ate a very large amount of crab and lobster and other sea critters on Pier 39 while we waited for Mom to land at 11:00. Late night! Friday was on the busy side, and Saturday was "work in the yard" day! Sunday was gorgeous, and while the little ones had their last sailing lesson, Justin and I had a few kayaking adventures out in the cove. He got in a little hike and exploration on Treasure Island, and I got in some exercise!
I have no idea what I'm doing here, but Mom thought it was a good photo opp, apparently!
And we're off! Hooray for us, we managed not to capsize.... And I managed not to get further sunburnt this week.
The kids thought is was pretty cool that we were all out there on the water together!
Ya'shar practiced on dry land. :)
Mom read while we were out and about!
The first boat goes in!!
Ni'ke and Nicholas in their little Bug
Coach Annie helps them dock
I just love how they're all lined up in a row!
We finished at around 1:00, so we decided to enjoy the view and have a little picnic before we left to head home. Gorgeous day, but chilly from all the wind!!!
Justin and the kids put together the fire pit! That's not all Justin did for us - the list is very looooong... He is the most awesome-est brother! (As equally awesome as my other two of course!)
Doesn't she look like a professional "flower planter"?!?! This was so fun.... We used to plant flowers together all the time when I was a little girl, and this was just so special! Good times, great memories, precious Mama....
The relocation of the shepherd's hook. It only took two days to decide WHERE.
The front yard make-over! I love how fresh mulch looks! There used to be more of the big bushes that are on the left, but we dug them up and spread them around and planted new ones. There was a perfect little spot for a stone path, so we went to Home Depot - we DID do it, and they COULD help!!
My tri-shepherd's hook and my new rose bush - my favorite additions!
A little backyard football with Uncle Justin!
Our first outdoor meal
Rea was so excited to eat outside - she's convinced that everything tastes better if eaten outside. I'm inclined to agree....
Monday morning Mom and I dropped the kids off at school and then headed up to my favorite little town, Healdsburg, for breakfast at Costeaux's French Bakery. They have the best quiche!
Mom and me!!! Love this picture...
Monday night I made my famous teriyaki salmon and mozzarella and tomato salad. Last night together, BOOOOO!
Here's another little flower bed that we spruced up in the back and to the side of the house.
Pretty purple petunias in the perfect planter pot!!!!!
No humming birds yet, but if we feed them, they will come.
Ya'shar, sweeping us off our feet
So the last time I planted tomato plants, I didn't give them enough sun, and I think we got three the whole summer. They stayed green.... So this time, we made a little mini-garden in the sunniest spot of the yard, and hopefully we will have tomatoes AND peppers in a few months!
The big highlight of the week was the fire pit and the promise of s'mores!!!! Justin taught the boys some fire-building basics
My little petunia is watering my petunias!
We have fire!!!!!
Love you, Justin!!!
Time to bust out the marshmallows!!!!
Perfect ending to a perfect week! I miss you all so much! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
