My sister-in-law Michelle blessed us with a great visit this past weekend! It's been so great to spend time with her - she was a great sport with our whirlwind lives and kept up a good pace with us! One thing we HAD to do was take the Larkspur Ferry into downtown San Fran for the day. We couldn't have picked a more gorgeous day for it, and since David knows the city so well, we were in good hands!
Somehow we wound up on the back of the boat, the windiest part!
Such a beautiful view the whole way there!
Passing Alcatraz
Michelle!!!
I was informed that I truly looked like a tourist in my "get up". Not a problem.... I AM one!
Nice....
Hang on to your hats!!!!
Love this shot coming into the wharf!
Our ferry boat ride
The downtown ferry building - full of awesome little shops and food!
The financial district
Trolly car ride?? OH YES!!!
Of COURSE we had to ride on the outside....
Don't know how those trollies make it up the steep hills!
But once you get to the top, the view is great!
The Tanguito truck! So Daryle told us about this food truck called Tanguitos that is permanently parked on the corner of Jones and Taylor down by the pier. It's authentic Argentenian food, and he promised we wouldn't be disappointed.... I have to say we were all a little skeptical, we're in the middle of one of the finest food cities in the world and he recommends a TRUCK??!!! Well he was completely right..... AWESOME!!!! We had saffron rice, paella, empanadas and the the best chicken and beef burgers ever with Argentenian cheese!
Enjoying our mango drinks till our food came
Ordering at the side of the truck....
And our eating area behind the truck!
Waiting for our bus
David!!
Michelle and me, tuckered out from all our shopping and headed home for the day!

Happy Birthday, Rea Sunshine!!
Rea was beyond excited this year for her birthday, mostly due to the fact that Aunt Michelle was here to celebrate with us! School had just let out 2 days ago, visitors are here, the weather is gorgeous, it's just a festive atmosphere this week!
We had to don the "party gear" to "get our party on"!!
Sadly I didn't get any close up pictures of the "8" cake that Rea wanted! She'd originally said she wanted math equations that all equal "8" on her cake, but later changed her mind....
Well here's a close up.....
The birthday girl enjoying some cake!
Ni'ke got to open some belated birthday presents, too!
Rea has been asking for a dog that she can walk for AGES. I finally found her one - she was thrilled. She and "Go-go" have been bonding.

Peter Pan
Rea's 2nd grade class put on the play "Peter Pan" today at school. Oh,
the hilarity. Rea was cast as Captain Hook, and I have to say the part
suited her well! (She insisted I wash her hair this morning so it would
be long and fluffy.) Watch the hook closely, as it seems to shift from
arm to arm throughout the play....
Left arm with the hook,
And now the right arm.....
Daryle doing his best pirate impersonation! Aaarrrr, Matie!
Well done, Rea! We are so proud of you!!!!
